The challenge
The plant is a large site made up of many production blocks, and this is one of them. The block combines production halls under steel roof trusses, a side hall with crane runways and a strip of offices along the facade. All of it had to be modelled at LOD 300.
Our solution
We modelled architecture, structure and equipment from the point cloud. Most of the work went into the support structures, cranes and racks: the steel that carries the equipment and the crane runways is in the model in detail. We also modelled the workers' workstations, so the production floor reads the way it is actually used, not as an empty shell.
