The challenge
The client needed an as-built model of the MEP systems in one area of an operating automotive plant. The only source was a point cloud. The services in this area run tight and stack in several tiers: ductwork, piping, and cable trays across 1,500 m².
Our solution
We modelled the ductwork, piping and cable trays from the point cloud at LOD 300. Each run sits where it sits in the scan, so the model shows what is actually installed. The client received a BIM model of the area.
