Scan-to-BIM and Design Development for a Residential Renovation in Denmark
Architectural model of a residential building in Denmark at LOD 350, with the architect's design changes modelled into it. Existing, demolition and new construction are kept as separate phases.

- Leif Jørgensen
- Location
- Denmark
The challenge
The building was going through repair and reconstruction. Parts of it have historical significance and had to remain authentic, while the architect, Leif Jørgensen, was bringing in a modern architectural concept. The design team needed an accurate model of the house as it stands, and a way to see every change against it.
Our solution
We built the architectural model at LOD 350, then modelled the new design changes into it. Every element belongs to a phase: existing, demolished or new. The same model shows the house as it stands, what comes out and what is built, in plans, sections, facades and 3D.
Results
- Architectural model of the building at LOD 350
- Design changes modelled in phases: existing, demolition, new construction
- Authentic elements kept in the model as existing, next to the new design
