What the estimate is based on

The calculator is hours multiplied by an hourly rate, the same arithmetic we use to quote real projects. For Scan to BIM the hours come from our own delivery records: the medians of 35 completed projects, grouped by floor area, level of detail and the disciplines you need. 2D to BIM and design development run on market norms instead, because we have not finished measuring our own, so read those as a bracket rather than a quote. Coordination and clash detection count in hours per month for your project size. Revit families and consulting are priced per family and per month, so they show an exact figure.

A range is uncertainty we can measure, not a negotiating position. For Scan to BIM it is the spread of real projects in your size band: the low end is a typical building without complications, the high end is complex geometry or heavier detailing. The other area-based services show 15% either side of what their norms predict, which is a convention rather than a measurement. Once we see your actual data, the point cloud or the drawings, the range collapses to a fixed quote with a delivery date, and that takes us up to 24 hours on working days. How accurate is the estimate?
For Scan to BIM, the range is what projects of your size actually took at your level of detail and discipline set, from the medians of 35 completed jobs. The other services show 15% either side of what their norms predict. Either way the exact price depends on the state of your data and the geometry of the building.
Why do some services show a range and others an exact price?
Area-based work depends on geometry we have not seen yet, so it gets a range. Revit families are priced per family and consulting per monthly package, so those show the exact figure.
What does "Individual" mean?
Masterplan-scale detail does not fit per-square-metre norms. Projects like that are scoped and priced one at a time; send the brief through the form and we will come back with a number.
Is the estimate binding?
No, it is the starting point for the budget conversation. The binding quote comes from the team within 24 hours on working days after you send the request.
